While most queer individuals would also identify with the all-encompassing rainbow flag, many want to fly their own individual flag alongside it. The Lesbian Pride flag represents women who feel romantic and sexual feelings towards other women.
The seven stripe Lesbian Pride flag is the most widely used version of the flag, and each color has its own individual meaning:
- Dark Orange Stripe = Gender nonconformity.
- Middle Orange Stripe = Independence.
- Light Orange Stripe = The lesbian community.
- White Stripe = Relationships unique to womanhood.
- Light Pink Stripe = Peace and serenity.
- Middle Pink Stripe = Love and sex.
- Dark Pink Stripe = Femininity.
