Description

This revolutionary improvement in menstrual care products is completely body safe, eco friendly and budget friendly.

DivaCup makes their products from 100% medical grade silicone so there is no risk of Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS), no nasty chemicals being leeched into the body and doesn’t absorb moisture from the vagina. Many DivaCup users report a reduction in menstrual cramps, dryness and discomfort during their periods when they’ve made the switch to the DivaCup. The DivaCup can also be worn for longer durations than tampons without jeopardizing your vaginal health.

Insertion: Get comfortable! There is a bit of a learning curve associated with the DivaCup. The first couple of times you insert it  you don’t want to be in a rush, tense vaginal muscles can also make insertion more difficult. Take your time and relax! Fold the cup in half lengthwise and get into a comfortable position. For some this might be crouching, one leg up on the toilet or sitting on the edge of the toilet or tub with your legs spread. Hold the folded cup between your thumb and forefinger and gently insert into the vaginal canal. Once it is about 2/3 of the way in give it a gentle twist and wiggle to open the cup up from its folded position. Nestle the cup inside the remainder of the way but not too far. You want the cup to be sitting at the bottom of the vagina, not upwards towards the cervix.

Removal: Once again, get comfortable! Position yourself the same way you did for insertion, preferably over the toilet or even the tub during your learning phase. Grasp the stem of the cup with your thumb and forefinger (it may be slippery, toilet paper can help to get a grip on it) and slowly start to pull down on the cup. Once you have a good grip on the base of the cup pinch it and slowly wiggle it from side to side to gently release its seal on the inside of the body and remove the up from the body.

Cleaning: Dispose of the blood that is in the cup by dumping it down the toilet. If some still remains half fill the cup with water from a potable source and dump it again. Apply a small amount of pH balanced cleanser, such as DivaWash or Sliquid Splash, to the inside and outside of the cup, wash and rinse thoroughly. Your DivaCup is ready for its next use!

Sizing: Over the years we have found a few different ways to gauge sizing needs of our individual customers. We use both DivaCup’s recommendations as well as years of feedback from our customers to make our sizing recommendations. We like to give these additional guidelines because everyone’s body is different and things like age or having children doesn’t always have a bearing on what size would work best for you.
– Size 0: DivaCup recommends the size 0 for those who are 18 or younger. We also suggest this size for those who have very snug vaginal muscles and would usually use a slim sized tampon.
– Size 1: DivaCup recommends the size 1 for those who are between the ages of 18 to 30, those who have not birthed children and who have an average flow. We also suggest this size for those who would normally use a regular sized tampon.
– Size 2: DivaCup recommends this size for those who are over the age of 30 or people who have birthed children either by vaginal birth or c-section. We also suggest this size for those who would use a super or plus sized tampon during their period.
